A bill, a tax or council letter, a landlord notice, a fine, a bank, insurance, medical, school or legal letter.

2. Hide your details

About Letter Forge

Letter Forge explains a confusing letter in plain words: what it is, who sent it, how urgent it is, the deadlines and amounts, what to do next, what the difficult words mean, signs that it might be a scam, and where to get free help. You can ask follow-up questions and get a polite reply written for you — asking for more time, a payment plan, a second look or an explanation. It works in your own language, even when the letter is in another one.

How to use Letter Forge

  1. Take a photo of the letter, open a PDF, or paste the text.
  2. Check what will be hidden, and add your name or street if they were missed.
  3. Choose your language and press “Explain this letter”. Tick off the steps as you do them, add the deadlines to your calendar, and write a reply if you need one.

Is my letter sent to an AI?

Only after your name, address, account and reference numbers, phone numbers, email addresses, bank and card numbers and dates of birth have been swapped for labels like [NAME 1] on your device. You can check exactly what will be sent before you press Explain. Your real details are put back into the answer on your device. Photos and PDFs are read on your device too.

Can I trust the explanation?

Use it as a first reading, not legal or medical advice. AI can misread a letter. Always check deadlines and amounts against the letter itself, and contact the sender or a free advice service if a lot depends on it. If a letter asks you to pay by gift card, crypto or an unusual bank transfer, or to click a link and log in, treat it as a possible scam and contact the sender using details from their official website.

Is Letter Forge free?

Yes. It is free to use, with no account, no watermark and no paywall.
